Hillsborough's Homestead Road Warehouse Hearing To Continue In April
The proposed plan is looking to reconfigure 2 lots, demolish existing structures and construct 2 warehouse/office buildings on Homestead Rd.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — An application by Homestead Road LLC — proposing to consolidate two lots, tear down existing buildings, and build two warehouses/office buildings off Homestead Road — will continue in April.
The Hillsborough Township Planning Board heard the application at its meeting on March 13 but was not able to complete the hearing.
The application will be continued at the Planning Board meeting on April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Courtroom at 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough.

The proposed plan is looking to reconfigure two lots, demolish existing structures, and construct two warehouse/office buildings on 203 and 189 Homestead Road.
The Homestead Road application was first brought before the Planning Board in May 2022 and has brought multiple objectors to the proposed project.

Objectors include:
- Objector #1 - Michael Pisauro, Jr., Esq. of The Watershed Institute, Witness – Clay Emerson, PhD, PE, CMF of Princeton Hydro
- Objector #2: Scott Gross, Member Representative of Local Citizens Against Traffic (LCAT), Witness - Kenneth J. Hausman, PE, Traffic Engineer
- Objector #3: Brian Tarantino, Member Representative of Stop Warehouses and Trucks (SWAT), and Carlos Rodrigues, PP, FAICP of Design Solutions for a Crowded Planet, LLC
- Objector #4: John Lanahan; Objector #5: Lucy Sandler, Sourland Conservancy Board of Trustees, Advocacy Committee Chair
At the April 3 meeting, public comment is expected before final comments from the objectors and applicant before the Planning Board begins deliberations.
"The deliberation will not be five minutes so I was starting to anticipate another meeting past the [April 3], because we are going to need a substantial amount of time," said Board Chairman Carl Suraci.
"I anticipate multiple potential meetings past the third but I’m not going to discuss what we’re going to do and when at this point," said Planning Board Attorney Eric Bernstein.
