Mayor Britting Honored For 'Ask The Mayor' Series By Congressman Kean

Mayor Robert Britting, Jr. launched the "Ask the Mayor" series earlier this year to offer transparency and to keep residents informed.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Mayor Robert Britting, Jr. was honored for his transparency and innovative "Ask the Mayor" series.

At the Sept. 10 Township Committee meeting, Andrew Shipley, Aide to Congressman Tom Kean, presented Britting, Jr. with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.

"I really do appreciate the recognition," said Britting Jr. at the Tuesday meeting. "I have been working incredibly hard at this and I appreciate all of the support from the committee members as well as the Township... This is something that I think needs to happen from now on and I think other towns should pick up on this too because the residents deserve to know what is going on."

Britting, Jr. launched the YouTube "Ask the Mayor" series when he was appointed as Mayor in January. He has since posted 19 videos ranging on sharing information on Township events, updates on the Route 206 project, business highlights, and more.

"I started this 'Ask the Mayor' series as just an opportunity to make sure everybody knows what is going on. The facts as they are and I think you all deserve to know what’s going on when it happens," said Britting, Jr.
