Primary Election Results Certified In Hillsborough 2023 Committee Race
The Somerset County Clerk certified vote totals in local elections this week, including in the Hillsborough Township race.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The final vote tally for the primary elections were certified on Monday, June 19, by the Somerset County Clerk. This did not change the projected election outcome.
Hillsborough voters headed to the polls on June 6 to cast ballots. Their choices this year included seats on the Township Committee.
Both Committee races for Republicans and Democrats were uncontested in the primary election.

With all districts reporting, here are the certified results, according to the Somerset County Clerk's Office:
- Republican incumbent James Ruh - 959
- Republican Catherine Payne - 953
- Democrat Samantha Hand - 1,561
- Democrat Ronald Yoder - 1,538
All four candidates will now run for the two, three-year township committee seats in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Currently, the Hillsborough Township Committee is currently made up entirely of Republicans.
