Public To Weigh In On Hillsborough's Homestead Road Warehouse Application

After 3 years, the public will finally be able to comment on a project proposing to build 2 warehouses/office buildings off Homestead Road.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — After three years, the public will finally be able to speak on an application by Homestead Road LLC, which is proposing to consolidate two lots, tear down existing buildings, and build two warehouses/office buildings off Homestead Road.

The Hillsborough Township Planning Board will hear the application at its Thursday meeting at the Hillsborough Municipal Building, 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough, in the Courtroom, starting at 7 pm.

The meeting will include summary arguments by the objectors:

  • Objector #1 - Michael Pisauro, Jr., Esq. of The Watershed Institute, Witness – Clay Emerson, PhD, PE, CMF of Princeton Hydro
  • Objector #2: Scott Gross, Member Representative of Local Citizens Against Traffic (LCAT), Witness - Kenneth J. Hausman, PE, Traffic Engineer
  • Objector #3: Brian Tarantino, Member Representative of Stop Warehouses and Trucks (SWAT), and Carlos Rodrigues, PP, FAICP of Design Solutions for a Crowded Planet, LLC
  • Objector #4: John Lanahan; Objector #5: Lucy Sandler, Sourland Conservancy Board of Trustees, Advocacy Committee Chair

The Applicant will also summarize its case before the public will have the opportunity to comment on the application.

The proposed plan is looking to reconfigure two lots, demolish existing structures, and construct two warehouse/office buildings on 203 and 189 Homestead Road.

The Homestead Road application was first brought before the Planning Board in May 2022.
