Purse Snatching, Porch Pirates Reported In Hillsborough
Hillsborough Police released the blotter for the month of November.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A man reportedly grabbed a woman's purse in Hillsborough and ran away.
On Nov. 27, the Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to the report of a purse snatching at Roman’s Gourmet at 601 Route 206.
The victim stated an unknown man grabbed her purse and fled on foot. The investigation is ongoing.

On Nov. 3: A Hillsborough resident reported her cell phone was stolen off the bench outside the Applebee’s (315 Route 206). The phone was tracked to Raritan Borough before being shut off. The phone was not located in the area. The investigation is ongoing.

On Nov. 5: Luis Pinheiro-Teixeira, 22, of Berkeley Heights was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Amwell Road. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 8: Several residents in town reported their new Samsung cell phones were stolen from the front porch after delivery. Surveillance of the thefts was obtained. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 8: A Manville resident reported his vehicle was entered while parked in the Sourland Mountain Park (421 East Mountain Road). Cash and credit cards were taken from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 9: Bottle King (626 Route 206) reported a white man who appeared to be 17 to 18 years old attempted to purchase alcohol with a fake Connecticut driver’s license. The man fled when confronted and was not located. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 12: Timothy Brown, 66, of Bridgewater was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Dukes Parkway East. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 13: A resident of Davenport Way reported a package containing a dress was stolen from her front porch. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 14: Larry Swint, 22, of Newark was arrested while on a traffic stop on Route 206 after it was found his Delaware license plate was fake. He was summonsed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 15: A resident of Claremont Drive reported that 2 packages were stolen off her front porch after being delivered by Amazon. The packages were worth $200. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 15: A resident of Marshall Road reported mail was stolen out of her mailbox by an individual in a white sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 16: Adam Shey, 35, of Staten Island, NY was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Amwell Road. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 17: Ikeen Peterson of Hillsborough was summonsed for trespassing (disorderly persons) on the construction site on Concord Street after being found in the fire panel room. He was released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 22: Eddie Brown, 36, of Hillsborough was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Route 206. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 24: Ronald Alvarado-Chavarria, 45, of Landing was arrested for DWI while on a motor vehicle crash investigation on Longfield Drive. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Nov. 26: The residents of 2211 Camplain Road reported hearing a loud noise and found their detached garage engulfed in flames. Hillsborough Fire Department responded and was able to put out the flames. There were no reported injuries and nothing suspicious was found on the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
On Nov. 30: Officers responded to Amora Builders construction site at 18 Norton Road along with Hillsborough Fire Department for the construction equipment fire. Hillsborough Fire Department was able to put out the flames and there were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and it is believed to not be suspicious.
