The northbound lane will reopen Sunday morning back to its current situation with a work zone on the east side of the bridge. This configuration is expected to be in place until the fall as the northbound lane of the bridge is reconstructed and utility work is completed, according to NJDOT.

The $5.9 million federally-funded project will replace the bridge deck and substructure, and make significant improvements to the superstructure. The project is designed in stages to minimize impacts to traffic and maintain one lane of traffic in both directions during peak traffic periods. Replacement of the bridge deck is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.
