Second Arrest Made In Shooting In Somerset County

Rasheedah Kearse, 28, Main Street, South Bound Brook, was the second to be arrested in connection with shots fired in Manville on Tuesday.

MANVILLE, NJ — A South Bound Brook woman, is the second to be arrested in connection with gunshots fired in Manville on Tuesday, said Somerset County Acting Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Rasheedah Kearse, 28, Main Street, South Bound Brook, was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and third-degree hindering.

On Tuesday at about 4:20 p.m., a 911 reported shots fired in the area of South Street and South 3rd Avenue. When Manville Police Officers arrived they did not find any injured victims, said Taggart.

Kearse was found to be another person involved in the shooting, following an investigation by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Detectives from the Manville Police Department.

On Wednesday, Kearse was arrested without incident in South Bound Brook. Kearse was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Emmanuel Williams, 23, of Woodbridge Avenue, Highland Park was previously arrested on Tuesday for his involvement in the shooting. Williams was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
