1980s Dance Party Fundraiser For Hoboken Homeless Shelter Moves To New Venue
You can party like it's 1985 and help the homeless and hungry in Hoboken.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken's homeless shelter will kick spring off with a Back to the '80s Dance Party at the Kolo Klub on April 12.
It will be the first time the dance party takes place at the Kolo Klub, organizers say, "and the party promises to be even more fabulous than ever at its new venue. As always, guests will get the chance to step back into the funnest decade and dance like it's 1985 to a DJ playlist featuring the music of the era’s top stars, enjoy free hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar to round out the dance party highlights."
Guests are encouraged to throw on their favorite 80s outfit for the costume contest, which includes prizes such as tickets to the popular Liberty Science Center After Dark event.

In 2023, the shelter helped transition 145 guests off the streets and into homes of their own, provided over 167,000 meals, and hosted over 7,000 hours of service from its eager community of volunteers. Proceeds from the Back to the 80s Dance Party will allow the shelter to carry on the mission it has had since opening its doors in 1982: ending homelessness and hunger one person at a time.
Advance tickets are $50 per person and at the event are $60 a person. Tickets are also a perk of sponsorship at all levels, including 30 tickets for those at the top sponsorship level.
The party starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 12.
