2 Charged With Shooting At NJ Transit Station In Hoboken
Authorities arrested two men in connection with a shooting at a light rail station in Hoboken. Nobody was injured, police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Authorities have arrested two men in connection with a shooting that took place at a light rail station in Hoboken earlier this month.
According to NJ Transit police, on May 11 around 8:30 p.m., Anthony Aguilar, 19, of Garfield, and Zaire Batista, 18, of Jersey City, allegedly became involved in an ongoing dispute with an 18-year-old male. The argument quickly escalated into shots being fired at the Ninth Street Station of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station in Hoboken, authorities said.
Aguilar and Batista allegedly fled the scene after the shooting. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, police said.

Both men were arrested in their homes. Aguilar was arrested Tuesday; Batista was arrested last Thursday, police said.
Authorities charged Batista with criminal attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and several drug-related offenses.

Authorities charged Aguilar with criminal attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Both were remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending a hearing in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court.
