2 Men Charged In Incidents At CVS, Library: Hoboken Police

Two men were charged in separate incidents in public places in Hoboken last week, including one charged with "throwing bodily fluids."

HOBOKEN, NJ — Two men were taken to the Hudson County jail after police responded to separate incidents in public places in Hoboken last week.

Police said that on Monday, Dec. 12, Hakeem Lawrence, 34, of Elizabeth was charged with throwing bodily fluids, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Police said that around 5 p.m. at the Hoboken Public Library, Lawrence was "throwing items at people while yelling towards them within the library."

Police responded and talked to Lawrence, but he spat on the officers, they said.

Police said another man "attempted to intervene." They arrested the other man for obstruction.

Lawrence was transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility after the arrest process.

In the wee hours of the next morning, a Jersey City man was charged after an incident at CVS.

Police say that they responded to CVS around 1 a.m. and charged Alex Kettles, 34, with shoplifting, terroristic threats, and drug paraphernalia.

Police say that when they arrived at CVS, "Mr. Kettles was verbally abusing the employees who
stopped him, and he refused to comply with the officers’ orders."

They said he was charged with terroristic threats for "threats to kill employees."

Kettles was processed and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
