3 Charged After 2.5 Kilograms Of Cocaine Found In Weehawken Residence

A search of a residence in Weehawken turned up 2.5 kilograms of cocaine. Three men were charged with dozens of drug-related crimes.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Hudson County prosecutors have arrested three men after 2.5 kilograms of cocaine was found in a Weehawken residence.

Members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Municipal Task Force on Thursday arrested Nicolas Mora-Daza, 24, of Union City, Christopher Gonzalez, 33, of Union City, and John Perez, 31, of Weehawken regarding the sale of illegal drugs.

The arrests were made following a month-long investigation involving the sale of cocaine to an undercover officer on multiple dates, and a court authorized search warrant of a residence in Weehawken, where the cocaine was found.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of $125,000.

Mora-Daza is charged with distribution (cocaine), possession with the intent to distribute (cocaine), five counts of possession with the intent to distribute (cocaine) with 500 Feet of Public Property, five counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) within 1,000 Feet of a School, Conspiracy to Distribute (cocaine), resisting arrest, three counts of distribution (cocaine), and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute (cocaine).

Gonzalez is charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine), Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) within 500 Feet of Public Property, Conspiracy to Distribute (cocaine), and resisting arrest.

Perez is charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine), Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine), Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine) within 500 Feet of Public Property, Conspiracy to Distribute (cocaine), a crime of the second degree, and Resisting Arrest.

The defendants were transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearance.
