5-Year-Old Boy Took Methamphetamine; Mom, Boyfriend Charged In Jersey City: Prosecutor
Hudson County prosecutors said that after a 5-year-old boy ingested methamphetamine, a Jersey City mom and her boyfriend were charged.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Jersey City mom and her boyfriend were arrested Friday on charges relating to an incident earlier that day in which a 5-year-old boy ingested methamphetamine, prosecutors said.
The child’s 20-year-old mother and her 22-year-old boyfriend were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, prosecutors said.
Both were arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and brought to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearances, prosecutors said.

Their names were withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
"The child is in good health following the incident," said a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office.

Besides thanking the Hudson County Special Victims Unit and Jersey City Police Department, Prosecutor Esther Suarez also thanked the Jersey City Public Schools for their assistance.
