7 Graduating Hoboken Seniors Win 'Book Scholarships' From Presinzano Association
Seven Hoboken High School seniors have won an award for pursuing higher education.
HOBOKEN, NJ — The Presinzano Civic Foundation announced the awarding of seven
prestigious book scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors from Hoboken High School.
The recipients were honored during the Hoboken High School Awards Ceremony last month.
The Presinzano Civic Foundation increased the scholarship amount by 50 percent compared to last year's awards. The awards were $375 this year, to be spent on books, computer materials, or other supplies.
Paul Presinzano, the founder of the Presinzano Civic Foundation, said, "The rising cost of
education, food, and living expenses prompted the board to decide to increase the awards."
To qualify for these scholarships, students had to craft a 250-word essay on "What Hoboken
means to them" and show they are registered to pursue higher education upon graduation.
