Car Flips Over In Uptown Hoboken; Road Reopens
A car flipped over not far from Wallace Elementary School in Hoboken late Thursday afternoon.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Ambulances were heard in Hoboken shortly before 5 p.m. as a witness said a car turned over in a crash near 12th Street and Willow Avenue.
The location is around the corner from Wallace Primary School.
The Hoboken police posted at 5:19 p.m.:

ADVISORY: Avoid driving near 12th and Willow: crash under invest. due to a reported veh. crash on 12th and Willow ave, please avoid the area of Willow Ave from 10th to 13th Sts. Officers are on site to direct traffic and investigate. No major injuries reported at this time.

Shortly after 6 p.m., the police gave an update:
The scene on 12th and Willow Ave. is all clear and the roads are reopened. Excellent response by @HobokenVol_EMS @HobokenFire and our police officers.

The witness said it appeared that only one man was in the car and he was able to exit.

NJ Transit said that their 126 bus would be rerouted in that area. The 126 buses continued to run on their regular Washington Street route.
This is at least the third serious crash in town this week; a pedestrian was hit by a car a block away on Sunday, and a person on a scooter was hit by a vehicle Wednesday.
Hoboken lowered their townwide speed limit to 20 M.P.H. in July.
Another vehicle crashed through the fence at the Wallace School four years ago, causing a student to be injured by debris.
