Corners Flood In Hoboken During Hurricane Nicole's Remnants: See City Advisory
Tropical Depression Nicole was southwest of Hoboken Friday, and thunderstorms and high winds were predicted for later.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A downpour on Friday evening brought flooding to several of Hoboken's corners, and while forecasters had downgraded Hurricane Nicole to a tropical depression, thunderstorms were expected Friday before the sky clears Saturday.
High tide in Hoboken this weekend will be at 10:47 p.m. Friday night and 10:41 a.m. Saturday.

The city said in a message, "The Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the storm as flooding could be possible in low-lying areas. Any intense rainfall or greater than 0.8 inch per hour may result in flooding in low-lying areas."
In recent years, Hoboken drivers have had to be rescued from their cars in flash floods. Elsewhere, drivers and their families have drowned in their cars during flash floods.

The city listed its low-lying, flood-prone intersections.

Forecasters believe as much as an inch of rain could fall Friday, a decreased amount from the original prediction.

Report Hazards
The Office of Emergency Management posted “No Parking Signs” in flood-prone areas, which should be taken as advisories, the city said. Cars there will not be towed, the city said.
Please report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets by calling the NHSA Hotline at (866) 689-3970, the city said.
The city said that wind gusts of up to 45 m.p.h. could occur Friday. Residents should secure loose objects.

City Plans Flood Warning System
The city of Hoboken ran a meeting Wednesday to lay out its planned Automated Flood Warning System. This winter, the city will install automated flood barricades and associated warning signage at some of the city's most flood-prone intersections in western Hoboken.
