Deadline Soon To Apply To Hoboken Police, Take NJ Civil Service Exam
The deadline to take the NJ state police civil service exam is soon. If you want to join the Hoboken police, apply this week, they said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The city of Hoboken and the Hoboken Public Safety Department on Wednesday encouraged candidates to submit their application to join the Hoboken Police Department by Friday, the deadline to take the next state police exam.
The deadline to apply for the exam, which is the first step toward becoming a Hoboken police officer, is March 31, they said.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have never been convicted of a felony. Interested and qualified applicants can apply at www.hobokenpdnj.gov/employment-opportunities.

"As part of an ongoing effort to diversify the Police Department and even better reflect the community it serves, the city and Public Safety Department have released recruitment flyers in seven languages in addition to English, including Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, Hindi, Guajarati, Urdu, and Punjabi," they said. "Those flyers have been distributed to media, local establishments, and posted on social media to capture a wide audience including the Hoboken Police Department Twitter Page: @HobokenPD."
Current members of the Hoboken Police Department have also been participating in the recruitment campaign by sharing in their own words, why they became police officers in the mile-square city.

In short video clips, released on the PD Twitter page, many say it is “in their blood,” because family members are also serving, or have served in Hoboken.
Sgt. Francis “Duke” McCourt calls it "the greatest job in the world," to “serve and protect my community." Officer Chelsea Tamborra loves “to give back to the community,” while Officer Tyrone Huggins says he “loves helping people” and that "there's no better city to work for than the town I was born and raised in: Hoboken!”
New officers will receive competitive starting salaries, generous benefits packages including paid sick and vacation time, continuing education funding, health insurance, and advancement and promotional opportunities.
After the application process closes this week, eligible candidates will take the New Jersey Entry Level Law Enforcement Examination, undergo a background check and, if hired, be enrolled in the police academy.
