HOBOKEN, NJ — The type of drenching rains that people dreaded in early fall may return to Hoboken late Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast calls for 1-2 inches of rain late Tuesday night into the wee hours of Wednesday, with wind gusts up to 23 miles per hour. The rain is expected to taper off on Wednesday morning.

While this isn't quite the 5 inches of rain that flooded Hoboken on Sept. 29, 1-2 inches of rain is significant.
