Flood Watch Issued For Hoboken With Inch Of Rain, Wind Gusts: Find Out When

HOBOKEN, NJ — With as much as 1.5 inches of rain and wind gusts expected later on Sunday, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Hoboken.

The watch runs from noon until midnight, with steady rain expected throughout that period.

High tide will be at 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

The city advises not to drive through flooded waters. However, the new automatic flood gates will not be used. The city Tweeted yesterday:

The city was not under a flood watch yesterday, and tides were low during the heaviest rain.

The NWS predicts: "Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then showers likely between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 49. Southeast wind 10 to 17 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph."
