Former Hoboken Resident Charged With Insurance Fraud Related To Water Damage In Vehicle
A former Hoboken resident submitted an insurance claim for water damage to his vehicle but concealed pre-existing mold, officials alleged.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office charged a former Hoboken resident with insurance fraud last week related to a claim on a vehicle with water damage, they said Friday.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's office charged Louis Volpe of Nesconset, N.Y., formerly of Hoboken, with a count of insurance fraud and arrested him at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City on Thursday, they said.
"The investigation determined that Volpe filed a claim with Progressive Insurance and intentionally gave them incorrect information regarding water damage sustained by his 2016 Jeep Cherokee and knowingly concealed that the Jeep had pre-existing mold damage," prosecutors said in a release.
