HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken police charged a Jersey City man with a sex crime on Halloween morning after, they say, he touched a woman's "intimate part" under her skirt.

Police arrested Fausto Hernandez-Victori, 34, from Jersey City at 210 Washington St. at 1:50 a.m. on Halloween morning, they said, and charged him with criminal sexual contact.

Police say that around 1:35 a.m., a woman caught the attention of Sgt. Edward Sellick and Officer Tyler Soto in the area of Third and Washington streets. She said a male was walking next to her as she was walking eastbound on Third Street from Bloomfield Street. As he was walking next to her, "he reached from behind and placed his hand under her skirt, touching her intimate part through clothing," according to police.
The woman pointed the suspect out to the police. The two of them caught up with him.

An investigation led to identifying and arresting him.
He was charged on a summons and released pending a court date. The date is Nov. 15 in Superior Court in Jersey City.
