Hoboken Arts And Music Festival, Train Festival Both Happening Sunday: Band Lineup Below

The Hoboken Arts and Music Festival, featuring The Feelies, will take place Sunday, while a train celebration takes place blocks away.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Are you a music nerd, and art fan, or a train buff? You can explore all three interests this Sunday when the Hoboken Arts and Music Festival kicks off on the main drag, just a few blocks from a celebration of transit history at the train station.

Arts And Music Festival

Hoboken's twice-yearly Arts and Music Festival will take place Sunday on lower Washington Street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Besides enjoying 300 vendors on seven blocks of Hoboken next month, you can see concerts all day on two stages.

Local favorites the Feelies will headline on the Observer Highway Stage at 4:45 p.m.

The Feelies will release their seventh album and first ever live album, Some Kinda Love, on Oct. 13 through Hoboken’s well known Bar/None Records.

Earlier in the day, acts including the Bongos and the Karyn Kuhl Gang will perform.

Railroad History Celebration

Meanwhile, as part of NJ TRANSIT’s 40th anniversary of rail operations, the public is invited to the Hoboken Terminal to view some of the agency’s iconic heritage locomotives and celebrate the state's railroad history. The event is free and will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. near Track 17.

The agency said, "Take a stroll down memory lane with locomotives decked out in historical liveries of predecessor railroads. A recruiting table will also be available to those interested in joining NJ TRANSIT’s ranks."

In addition to The Feelies, the Arts and Music Festival will feature a lineup of musical acts on two stages, including the Bongos. The schedule is as follows:

Observer Highway Stage

12:15 p.m. - Karyn Kuhl Gang

1:30 p.m. - Lenny Kaye's Nuggets Golden Jubilee Band

3 p.m. - The Bongos

4:45 p.m. - The Feelies

Seventh Street Stage

12:15 p.m. - Jax Zilla

12:40 p.m. - Melanie Murray

1:10 p.m. - Allison Strong

1:50 p.m. - Zydeco Revelators

2:50 p.m. - Gene D. Plumber with Ed Fogarty and Friends

3:50 p.m. - Widley Grown

5 p.m. - Frankie Morales and the Mambo of the Times Orchestra

Washington Street will be closed to parking and vehicular traffic between Observer Highway and Eighth Street on Oct. 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The New Jersey Transit 126 bus from New York City will be diverted to alternate routes during the festival.
