Hoboken Police Arrest Alleged Masturbator In Pier A Park
Children are known to play in the area of the park where the alleged incident took place, Hoboken police said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken police arrested a 68-year-old man after he allegedly exposed himself in Pier A Park and masturbated in public view, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Hoboken Police Department, a pair of officers were dispatched to the park around 5:15 p.m. on Friday after receiving a phone call about a man allegedly exposing himself. After arriving on scene, the officers spoke with the caller, who pointed towards a man who was walking away from the area.
Multiple witnesses told the officers that they also saw the man “with his pants down to his knees masturbating in the area of the fountain in view of the public,” authorities said.

Children are known to play in the area where the alleged incident took place, police said.
According to witness statements, the man – later identified as Lee Albert, 68, homeless – stopped masturbating when he noticed that someone had called police and tried to leave the scene.

After speaking with witnesses, police arrested Albert and transported him to headquarters, where he was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault.
Authorities remanded Albert to the Hudson County Rehabilitation Center, police said.
Friday’s alleged incident isn’t the first time that a person has been accused of exposing themselves in Pier A Park. In 2015, Hoboken police arrested a 43-year-old Jersey City man after he allegedly exposed himself to several young children.
