HOBOKEN, NJ — Two women are at the head of Hoboken High School's graduating class this year, the district announced this week.

Samantha Gotimer is the valedictorian and Hannah Morley is the Class of 2026 salutatorian.

Both students have been recognized for academic achievement, leadership, and service.

The school said Gotimer earned high honors every marking period in one of the school's most rigorous academic programs. Her interests in political science, law, and history helped drive her work across subjects.

Gottimer served as lead attorney on the school's Mock Trial team, helping secure a county championship. She also earned Outstanding Attorney recognition at the Princeton Moot Court competition and ranked fourth out of 170 participants. Her activities also included Model UN, Moot Court and Biolympiad.

Outside the classroom, she has been captain of the varsity cross country, indoor track and outdoor track teams since sophomore year, according to the announcement.

The school said she has broken seven school records, earned multiple all-county honors and was named Overall MVP for track and field during both her freshman and sophomore years.

She also coached middle school athletes, volunteered with Girls on the Run, and completed more than 100 hours of community service, earning the Innerview Ambassador Award.

This fall, she will attend Northwestern University to study political science.

Fluent In Japanese

The school is also proud of Morley, noting that her leadership and communication skills were evident through her roles in Mock Trial, Debate Team, Model UN, and Model Congress.

She also excelled in AP Japanese, having attended school in Japan.

Morley starred as a lead in the school musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and earned numerous honors. She contributed to the school’s music programs through concert band, chorus, woodwind ensemble, and Guitar Club.

As Treasurer of the AAPI Culture Club, Hannah helped promote cultural awareness and inclusion. She was an active member of Student Government, National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society, and volunteered as an online SAT tutor.

This fall, Morley will attend the University of Cambridge in England, the second oldest English-speaking university in the world, where she will pursue a degree in Law.
