Bhalla Team Declares Victory In Hoboken Mayor/Council Election
Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla ran unopposed, and 10 candidates vied for 3 City Council seats. See the tallies and school board results below.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla won re-election unopposed Tuesday night, and he also declared victory for his team of three council candidates, who were far ahead of seven challengers. The numbers are the most recent posted by 11 p.m. by the County of Hudson.
As of late Tuesday evening, incumbent Councilwoman Emily Jabbour had amassed the most votes among council candidates, with teammates Councilman Jim Doyle and political newcomer Joe Quintero within a few votes of each other as of the end of the night.
"This was an overwhelming victory tonight for Mayor Bhalla and the Team Bhalla at-large council slate," said campaign spokesperson Rob Horowitz shortly before 10 p.m. "Hoboken voters sent an message that they strongly approved of the performance, policies, and new proposals of Mayor Bhalla and his council team. Team Bhalla thanks Hoboken voters for the strong mandate they provided —one that will create momentum for leading Hoboken forward. Team Bhalla congratulates all the council opponents for their hard work and the good campaigns.”

Hoboken's municipal elections are non-partisan, meaning the elections aren't Republicans vs. Democrats, but various individuals and slates against each other.
Bhalla's team was well funded going into the race, amassing at least $171,000.
School Board Results
In addition to the mayor/council race, four candidates ran for three spots on the Hoboken Board of Education. The results as of 11 p.m. were:
- Ailene McGuirk: 2,670
- Malani Caemartori: 2,544
- Thomas Kluepfel: 2,253
- Patricia Waiters: 1,449
- Write-Ins: 85
