Hoboken Police Charge Man After Tires Slashed On 12 Cars
Police said that a resident went to his car on New Year's Day and found three tires flat. Police found 10 cars with all four tires flat.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken police have charged a 42-year-old Hoboken man with criminal mischief after they found 12 cars with their tires slashed on New Year's Day, police said. Ten of the cars had all four tires flat, they said.
Police charged a Hoboken man on Monday but have not arrested him, they said.
Police said that around 10:05 a.m. on New Year's Day, a Hoboken resident stopped Officer Joseph DiMartino in the area of Ninth and Willow Avenue. The resident said he went to his car and found that it had three flat tires. He said he noticed that four cars parked on the same side of the street also had flat tires.

DiMartino searched the immediate area and discovered a total of 12 cars with flat tires, police said. Police said two of the cars had three flat tires and the other 10 cars had all of their tires flattened.
The following detectives responded and conducted the investigation: Det. John Quinones, Det. Vito Gigante, and Det. Luis Rodriguez.

Through their investigation, police said, they learned a male suspect used some type of device to puncture holes in the tires around 6:10 a.m. on New Year's Day.
Police identified a 42-year-old city resident, Obneak Walker, as a suspect, they said. Detective John Quinones generated a summons complaint Monday charging him with criminal mischief, police said.
Police said the suspect has not been arrested, but will receive a summons in the mail with a court date. Police said he will be fingerprinted and photographed at a later time.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
