Hoboken Police Use Naloxone To Save 7 Lives In 2 Weeks: HCPO

Hoboken police officers made yet another overdose-related rescue in the city using Naloxone, which is also sold under the brand name Narcan.

HOBOKEN, NJ — When saving lives becomes routine, you know that you’re doing something right.

Hoboken police officers made yet another overdose-related rescue on Wednesday, authorities said. According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, Hoboken officers’ quick use of Naloxone saved a life on May 23.

“Great job officers,” prosecutors wrote.

It isn’t the first time that Hoboken officers have used their lifesaving skills with Naloxone – which is also sold under the brand name Narcan – to rescue local drug overdose victims. The HCPO has posted the following social media alerts this month:

  • May 21 – “Hoboken police quickly administered Naloxone to save two lives during the weekend in two separate drug overdose situations.”
  • May 18 – “Another life was saved by Hoboken Police Officers who quickly administered Naloxone yesterday evening, May 17, after a drug overdose.”
  • May 16 – “Hoboken Police quickly administered Naloxone to save two lives yesterday in two separate drug overdose situations.”
  • May 14 – “Another life was saved by Hoboken Police Officers who quickly administered Naloxone to save a life on Saturday, May 12, after a drug overdose.”
