Hoboken Resident Starts on NJ Transit Board

Finkle was nominated in December by Gov. Christie to mass transit agency's board of directors.

A Hoboken resident has officially started his role on the NJ Transit board of directors.

Jamie Finkle, who was nominated by Gov. Chris Christie in December, participated in his first monthly board meeting on Wednesday morning. Finkle is the general counsel of his family business, CBF Trucking. State Transportation Commissioner James Simpson, the transit agency’s board chairman, noted that Finkle is the third trucking executive to serve on the seven-member board

According to a December article from the Asbury Park Press, Finkle is a registered Democrat and his Republican father has donated to Republican campaigns in the state. According to his LinkedIn profile, Finkle is a 1998 graduate of Gettsburg College with a degree in political science and a 2003 graduate of Seton Hall Law School.

Finkle did not say much during his first meeting as a board member. During the meeting he voted to approve the purchase of 158 new buses, along with approving a new advertising contract and train management system, along with being briefed on homeland security efforts.
