Hoboken, NJ - A large water main break in Hoboken left several residents with low or no water pressure on Monday morning.
According to City of Hoboken alerts, Suez Water responded to the area of Clinton and 1st Streets and began closing mains to isolate the break.
"Residents may experience low/no water pressure," city officials advised.

Because of the break, the NJ Transit 126 bus line will not run on Clinton Street on Monday morning, and will instead load on Washington Street, city officials added.
All Hoboken schools will be open, officials announced around 7:30 a.m.

"School is in session today," school administrators stated via social media. "Water pressure fluctuates a bit in our buildings but is flowing. Bottled water available."
City officials provided an update about repair progress later Monday morning:
"Broken main has been isolated. Water pressure restoring through city. The block of 1st (Clinton-Willow) will be without service until repairs are completed."
The repair came too late for one local vehicle owner, whose car had to be lifted out of a sinkhole via crane.

However, city officials issued a conflicting warning at 5:47 p.m.
"Due to the nature of the 12" main break and repairs needed, SUEZ has issued a precautionary boil water advisory today to residents on the block of 1st Street between Willow Avenue and Clinton Street," officials wrote. "The boil advisory applies to one block and excludes the rest of Hoboken."
According to city officials, residents and businesses in the affected area should boil their water for at least one minute for the following: drinking, cooking, or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets, and all other consumption.
Water does not have to be boiled for the following activities: showering, washing dishes or clothes.
