Hoboken Theater Performs ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ For Bank Execs
Kearny Bank executives were treated to a performance of the 1946 Christmas classic. It's a good thing they know how to laugh at themselves.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken’s Mile Square Theater recently got a financial boost from Kearny Bank, which donated $7,500 to the nonprofit arts group. A few months afterwards – just in time for the holidays – a group of its executives got a treat of their own: a private performance of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

In October, the Fairfield-based Kearny Bank became a sponsor of the Hoboken nonprofit, making a $7,500 contribution to help produce local theater in the community. During a recent gala event at the theater, Kearny Bank’s executive team got a holiday-themed nod of thanks: a live-on-stage radio broadcast rendition of the 1946 film classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Given the movie’s famously dubious portrayal of the financial lending process, it was an interesting theatrical experience for a collection of banking executives.
“We very much appreciate Mile Square Theater providing us with an exceptional venue for developing key relationships within Hoboken,” said Craig Montanaro, Kearny Bank president and CEO.

“The fact that the production was ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ gave those of us from Kearny Bank an opportunity to laugh at ourselves,” Montanaro said. “That’s quite a good thing to do every now and again.”
