A winter weather advisory is in effect for Hoboken, from the night of Martin Luther King Day into Tuesday.

HOBOKEN, NJ — How's the weather?

It's about to get wintry.

After a storm caused the train station to flood at high tide on Saturday (see this link to video), snow is on the way.

As noted earlier this week, Saturday morning high tide, 5.2 feet, occurred at 9:42 a.m., and was the highest tide of the week. RELATED: New Storm May Close Route 46 Again, One Town Warns

A winter weather advisory was issued for 8 p.m. Monday night into Tuesday.

Currently, 1-2 inches of snow are in the forecast for Monday night and as much as another 2 inches Tuesday.

Additionally, forecasts also say up to 2 inches of snow could fall Friday. Keep watching the NWS forecast for updates.

Here is guidance the city of Hoboken issued last week:

Avoid flood-prone areas

The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management OEM reminds residents to avoid flood-prone areas. Intense rainfall of greater than 0.8 inch per hour could result in flooding.

Do not walk or drive around barricades or through flooded areas. Do not move barricades.

Please report flooded intersections and clogged drain inlets by calling the NHSA Hotline at (866) 689-3970.

Secure loose objects

Winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected with gusts as high as 50 mph possible.

Residents should secure all loose objects outside or bring them inside, especially from balconies.

Outdoor tents should be taken down depending on the wind load. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, resulting in power outages.

$5 garage parking available overnight

Residents with valid resident on-street parking permits are reminded there is discounted parking available from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. at a rate of $5 per night in Garages B (28 Second St.), D (215 Hudson St.), and Midtown (371 Fourth St.) Discounted garage space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular rates are in effect at all other times.
