Going into Summer, I thought we'd take a look at some of the famous, luxurious, exclusive homes of the rich and famous. Â I am fortunate to be going to Lake Como this Summer to join the Italian part of my family for an extended reunion.

One of the most famous homes on the Lake today is George Clooney's home.  Clooney and his fiancé are planning a wedding in Venice.  Will Lake Como play a role as their honey moon getaway?
Villa Balbianello has been the site of a number of films including James Bond's Casino Royale and Star Wars.
Villa Dell' Erba was used in the filming of Ocean's 12
Villa Carlotta is also one of the most famous houses on the lake. Â It has spectacular gardens and a long illustrious list of owners.
The architect who designed the villa is unknown. It was completed in 1745 and remained in the hands of Marquis Clerici until 1795, when it passed by marriage to the banker and Napoleonic politician Giambattista Sommariva, who added a pediment and clock. In 1843, it was given as a wedding present by Princess Marianna of Prussia to her daughter Charlotte, Duchess of Saxe-Meiningen, after whom the villa is named.
