Authorities briefly evacuated the Hudson County Superior Court building in Jersey City when a smoke alarm went off, officials say.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Authorities briefly evacuated the Hudson County Superior Court building in Jersey City on Friday due to a smoke alarm, but there was no fire or danger to the public, officials say.
A spokesperson with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Newark Avenue facility was evacuated after a smoke alarm went off on the 9th floor Friday morning.
The evacuation was a precautionary measure and there was no danger to the public or staff, the Hudson County Sheriff's Office told Patch.
