Liberty Humane Society: The "first low-cost spay neuter clinic in Hudson County" is officially in service.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The “first low-cost spay neuter clinic in Hudson County” is officially on the road.

The Liberty Humane Society, which services multiple Hudson County towns including Hoboken and Jersey City, announced last week that its spay neuter truck is officially in service. The mobile clinic will deliver high-quality surgery at a low cost in an area that has been in dire need of such a service for years.

“We’re thrilled to launch the first low-cost spay neuter clinic in Hudson County, in partnership with People For Animals! Our bright and beautiful truck will be delivering high-quality surgery at low cost, right where it’s needed most in Jersey City. Additional subsidies available for the owners of big dogs and outdoor cats in Jersey City and Hoboken.”

LHS staff reminded local pet owners and groups that the program is intended for low-income residents.

“Liberty Humane Society operates on the honor system. Our subsidized programs are funded by donations and are meant solely for individuals who truly cannot afford to have their pets spayed or neutered. If you can afford to bring your pet to a regular veterinary clinic for spay/neuter, please make that choice. By doing so our financial resources will not be wasted. This program is not for rescue or adoption groups.”
