K.C. Kids Moving Closer to Washington Street

The consignment store is moving from 463 5th St. to 108 4th St.

This summer the K.C. Kids consignment shop will have a new home.

The business is moving from its current location at 463 Fifth St. to 108 Fourth St., between Bloomfield and Washington Streets.

Kate Bird, who co-owns the business with her sister-in-law Cindy Kue, said they had always envisioned being closer to Washington Street.

"We've been eying that block for two years now," Bird said. "The opportunity presented itself so we couldn't pass it up." Bird said their lease on 5th Street location happens to be ending at the same time.

The business, which , sells clothing and accessories for children, such as high chairs, strollers and changing tables. It also sells maternity wear.

Bird said they expect to be settled in the new location by the first week of June, after completing some minor renovation work. Most recently the location was used for a temporary store selling antiques and bric-a-brac.

Bird said the new space might be slightly smaller than the current one, but that increased business would enable the store to rotate its inventory more quickly.

"People can still expect to find the quality clothing and gear we've always carried," she said.
