Kids Fitness Center Opens as Planned

My Gym, the nationally franchised children's fitness center, on Monday. The fitness center is located on the third floor of the Monroe Center.

My Gym offers physical fitness classes for children to learn motor skills, teamwork and other sports related abilities. The classes, with names such as Tiny Tykes and Mighty Mites, are structured based on age, with the youngest class ranging from six weeks to six months, and the oldest class including children up to age 13.

The space will also offer games, dances and puppet shows, among other activities, as well as serve as a venue for birthday parties, summer and winter camps and baby-sitting for parents during special nights out.

The owners of My Gym Hoboken, Tatiana Vega and her husband Alvaro Perez, said they became interested in opening a location in Hoboken after taking their two young daughters to other My Gym centers in the surrounding area.

“We have two little girls, and we were looking for activities to do, but we realized that we didn't have a lot of them in the area,” Vega said.
