HOBOKEN, NJ — A Jersey City resident was charged with aggravated assault on Sunday night after he allegedly bit a Hoboken police officer after being escorted out of a bar, police said.
Police said that Ryan Welch, 28, of Jersey City was arrested outside of Mulligan’s Pub at 59 First St. around 10 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated assault of a police officer.
Police said that as Welch was being escorted out of the bar for disorderly behavior, he bit a security worker. Police officers responded, but Welch "continued to yell and act disorderly," police said.
