HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 36-year-old man was charged on Wednesday with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after he met a 14-year-old girl at a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail station and later assaulted her, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Cashmere Mudayh, 36, of Jersey City "on charges relating to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl he met at a Light Rail station," prosecutors said on Wednesday.

Mudayh was arrested at his Fulton Avenue home and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance, prosecutors said.

The charges were second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.

Prosecutors said the alleged assault occurred on Monday, April 18 at Mudayh’s Fulton Avenue apartment. The office gave no further details.
