Man Convicted Of Sexually Assaulting Boy, 8, At Pool In Hudson County
A jury found the 22-year-old Hudson County man guilty after a five-day trial.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A 22-year-old Union City man was convicted of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy at one of that city's public pools in 2019, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said. The free pool is located on Palisades Avenue and open to Hudson County residents.
The prosecutor's office said that on Thursday, a jury found Rosario-Sanchez guilty of sexual assault by contact, a crime of the second degree, and endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree crime.
The verdict was delivered before Judge Nesle Rodriguez following a five-day trial.

The jury found Rosario-Sanchez not guilty of similar charges involving a 12-year-old boy on the
same day.
An investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Union
City Police Department determined Rosario-Sanchez committed a sex crime on an 8-year-old boy
he did not know at the Firefighters’ Memorial Pool on Ninth Street in Union City on July 30, 2019, prosecutors said.

Rosario-Sanchez is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, July 15, 2022.
The sexual assault by contact charge carries a sentence of 5 to 10 years in state prison and the endangering charge carries a sentence of 3 to 5 years in state prison. The sentence is also subject to Megan’s Law and parole supervision for life.
