HOBOKEN, NJ — Time can slow down during a pandemic. A gluten-free Hoboken bake shop that was expected to open last fall will finally open this coming Tuesday, its owners said.

Annie & Em's Bake Shop, at 155 Third St., posted on Instagram: "OPENING Tuesday, February 22nd!!!"

The company was founded in 2018 by two women who sold their items at farmers' markets in Monmouth and Mercer counties, and through custom orders.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "Gluten is found in grains, such as wheat, barley, rye, and a cross between wheat and rye called triticale. A gluten-free diet helps manage symptoms of celiac disease and other medical conditions associated with gluten. This type of diet also has gained popularity among people without gluten-related medical conditions."

The shop is not nut-free but may offer nut free items, they have said. Their website is here.
