New Right Angle Cuts Grand Opening Ribbon

The new uptown location is the second for the custom framing business.

Right Angle Custom Framing celebrated the opening of its Tuesday afternoon with a special ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mayor Dawn Zimmer.

This is the second Right Angle location, following the one open at 320 Washington Street. The shops offer customer framing services for paintings, photographs and other media.

“We wish you the best of luck,” Mayor Zimmer told owner Pablo Godoy. “You have some impressive clients and we hope you get many more.”

Godoy said he had considered opening his second location at a property in Westfield but found that he didn't feel the same connection there as to Hoboken. Originally from Argentina, Godoy said he is overwhelmed at being able to own his own business in the United States.

“If we have to thank someone it's the Hoboken community,” he said.

Godoy said the shop will also display the work of local artists. He said he and his wife have decorated their home with paintings and photographs from several Hoboken artists.

“What I'm most proud of is Right Angle shows local artists,” Godoy said.

One artist, Bobby Wagner, attended the ribbon cutting. Several of his black and white photos of Hoboken images are framed and adorn the Right Angle walls.

“It's invaluable having this amazing opportunity to show my work here,” Wagner said.
