Water Main Break Fixed In Hoboken
A water main break in downtown Hoboken affected service and traffic on that block.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Crews from Veolia Water fixed a water main at 10:12 p.m. Monday that had ruptured shortly after noon.
UPDATE: Repairs on the Clinton St water main break have been completed and service has been restored.

The repairs were still ongoing around 5 p.m. Hoboken's Office of Emergency Management said: "UPDATE: Repairs continue following a water main break on Clinton St in #Hoboken. Customers on Clinton between 1st & 3rd may experience low/no water pressure. @NJTRANSIT bus #126 diverted off Clinton. But IS running on Washington St. @CityofHoboken."

The water company said there may be impacts to service and traffic from Second to Third streets on Clinton Street, but there were no impacts on or advisories for the rest of town, they said.
In February, schools shut down in Hoboken and homes were without water for days after a utility contractor struck a main near the city's southern border.

A month later, in late March, crews spent 12 hours fixing another water main break in the courtyard of 770 Jackson St.
Hoboken's Office Of Emergency Management wrote Monday afternoon:
UPDATE: Broken main on Clinton Street in @CityofHoboken has been isolated. Customers on Clinton between 2nd & 3rd Streets may experience little/no water until repairs are complete. @VeoliaWaterNJ & @HobokenOEM on scene. Be advised: Clinton St may have to close btwn 2-3rd. https://t.co/lcsW3jdrcE

For more than a year, the city has been in the process of replacing water lines that are over a century old. When fixing a water pipe last spring, workers spied a pipe that said 1890 on it.
