N.J. Woman Gives Rush-Hour Birth In Lincoln Tunnel
Port Authority police officers were pulled over, then told by a driver that a woman was in labor in the car's back seat and "couldn't wait."

A New Jersey woman gave birth to a child in the south tube of the Lincoln Tunnel on Monday - thanks to assistance from Port Authority personnel.
At about 5:25 p.m., the Port Authority Police Department Lincoln Tunnel desk received a call of a Hoboken woman in labor in the south tube, according to Joe Pentangelo, Port Authority Police public information officer.
At 40th and Dyer, an Uber driver pulled over and flagged down police officers, excitedly telling them he had a woman in labor in the back seat of his car who “couldn’t wait,” Pentangelo said.

Port Authority Police Officers Michael Principe and Stephen Corrigan provided oxygen and comfort to the mother while Tunnel and Bridge Senior Agent Greg Nimmo assisted with the delivery of the child, a girl.
EMS arrived and transported mother and baby to St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital. This is the second child that Sr. Agent Nimmo delivered while working at the Port Authority, said Pentangelo.
