One Person Hospitalized After Hoboken Shooting (UPDATED)

The person, reportedly an Amazon worker, was in stable but critical condition.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante tweeted Sunday morning that following a shooting at 900 Monroe St., one person was brought to the hospital.

The shooting occurred around 2:39 a.m. near the city's western border with the Palisade hills, a block from the Ninth Street light rail station and elevator to Jersey City Heights.

Sunday afternoon, Lt. Danilo Cabrera said in a release, "When police officers responded, they located a male with gunshot wounds. Medical aid was provided and he was transported to JCMC for treatment. The male victim is listed as critical but stable at this time." (See related story here.)

ABC posted a report that the man was an Amazon employee, and was shot five times when he stepped out of the warehouse near Ninth Street. But the story was later unavailable.

Later on Sunday, Chief Ferrante tweeted, "This incident appears to have no association w/multiple shootings that occurred in the Jersey City Heights, Union City & Hoboken this summer & based on the info I received while at the scene this morning & up to this minute, there's no threat to Hoboken residents at this time."
