Police To Run Active Shooter Training At Stevens Institute In Hoboken For 3 More Nights

The Hoboken police and Stevens Institute of Technology police will run active shooter training on campus for three more nights.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Stevens Institute of Technology said Monday night that on Monday and Tuesday night, as well as next Monday and Tuesday (June 20 and 21), the campus police and Hoboken police would conduct "a joint training section for active shooter responses."

"If you are on campus during this time," Stevens wrote in a message, "you may observe police officers wearing specialized gear and equipment and appear to be responding to an on-campus emergency. You may also hear police shouting commands inside the building. This is only a drill."

Stevens Alert:

On Monday & Tuesday 6/13 & 6/14 and 6/20 & 6/21/2022 between the hours of 5-10 PM, Stevens Campus Police along with officers from the Hoboken Police Department will be conducting a joint training session for active shooter responses. Police officers will be training in the new UCC testing their response and communications capabilities. If you are on campus during this time, you may observe police officers wearing specialized gear and equipment and appear to be responding to an on-campus emergency. You may also hear police shouting commands inside the building. THIS IS ONLY A DRILL AND THERE IS NO NEED TO BE ALARMED.
