Police Training Exercise Near Stevens Institute In Hoboken

Hoboken residents and visitors shouldn't be alarmed by the police presence on May 30, which is due to a training exercise, authorities said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Police are planning to hold emergency training exercises near Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken on Thursday, authorities said.

According to a city news release, residents shouldn’t be alarmed by the police presence, which will take place around Stevens Institute of Technology Campus and the area of 6th Street and River Terrace.

City officials said emergency exercises will be conducted by the Hoboken and Stevens police departments in partnership with Stevens Institute of Technology to “better prepare and ready our resources” should an actual emergency occur.

“The police department will be utilizing all resources as if this were an actual event,” officials stated. “We may hope for the best, but should always prepare for the worst.”
