Proposed Hoboken Municipal Complex On 15th Street: Weigh In Via Survey
Hoboken's proposing a public safety complex with municipal garage, library branch, and recreation center. What do you think?

HOBOKEN, NJ — The city of Hoboken is seeking feedback on the proposed Hoboken Municipal Complex, which would include a public safety building, public works garage, recreation facilities and a library branch. The proposal first made the news when Charlie Poggi, who owns some of the land, criticized the city for not involving him in the process.
The complex would include a municipal parking garage with approximately 405 public spaces, a new public works facility, as well as multiple indoor and outdoor community spaces such as a 5,500 square foot library, 18,500 square foot field house, 42,000 square foot recreation center and community gardens, in addition to the new police and fire headquarters.

The survey is scheduled to close on March 28.
“For years, taxpayers have been footing the bill for emergency repairs to facilities that no longer meet the growing needs as a city,” said Mayor Ravi Bhalla. “We have a once in a generation opportunity to reverse this trend and take a holistic approach to plan for the future, while also improving the quality of life for our residents.."

The Bhalla administration wants to acquire the property located at 1501 Adams St. for the project, which would be approximately 118 feet tall.
The city will use feedback from the survey and a recent meeting to develop design alternatives, which will be presented to the public at a second community meeting in April.
