Second Man Charged With Murder In Death Of Jersey City Teacher: Prosecutors
A second man, Leiner Miranda Lopez, has been charged in the death of Jersey City kindergarten teacher Luz Hernandez. He's still at large.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — After the estranged husband of a Jersey City teacher was charged with her murder two weeks ago, another man has also been charged in her death, but that man is still at large.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday that they had filed additional charges against Leiner Miranda Lopez, 26, of Jersey City in connection with the death of Luz Hernandez, 33, of Jersey City, who was found in a shallow grave in Kearny on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Lopez had originally been charged with desecrating human remains, as was Hernandez's estranged husband, Cesar Santana, who has since been arrested and charged with murder.

Lopez, however, has not yet been captured.
It was also announced on Friday that Lopez has additionally been charged with tampering with physical evidence and with failing to dispose of human remains in a manner prescribed by law.

Hernandez was one of eight women killed so far this year in separate domestic violence incidents in New Jersey, the first four of which took place in Hudson County.
