Teen Caught With Loaded Gun After Officer Sees Him Driving On Hoboken Sidewalk: Police
A West Orange teen was spotted driving on a sidewalk near Sinatra Drive in Hoboken, police said. Police stopped him and found a loaded gun.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A West Orange teenager was found with a loaded gun after Hoboken police saw him driving on a sidewalk early Monday morning, they said.
The Hoboken police charged Jalis Lliguicota, 18, of West Orange with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving on the sidewalk, unlicensed driver, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in motor vehicle, tinted windows, possession of handgun, defaced firearm, possession of hollow point bullets, and possession of a high-capacity magazine, early Monday morning.
Police say that around 3 a.m. Monday, Officer Harold Milne observed a Black Toyota being driven on the pedestrian walkway on Sinatra Drive, near where Eighth Street would extend. He called for backup.

Milne stopped the vehicle once it drove back onto the street. He identified the driver as Lliguicota.
Police placed the teen under arrest for driving while intoxicated. They then found him "in possession of a defaced firearm, loaded with hollow point bullets," police said.

At Police Headquarters, Lliguicota provided breath samples for chemical testing, police said. Then he was charged with the drug and other charges.
Once processed, he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
