The Mother of All Deals: Flip Flops, Falafel and Hibachi Cooking

Patch knows every family likes to shop smartly and save money. That's why, every Wednesday morning, we'll compile five great deals on local products, services, meals and activities for families to enjoy.

This week we've got some good tips on deals for mens and women's shoes, hair care products, new falafel and sushi restaurants and a savings for moms on Mondays.

  • , the fashion boutique at 620 Washington Street, now has a “Mommy Monday” special saving moms 10% off apparel and handbags.
  • Cheap Maggie's at 216 Washington Street has a table set outside with pairs of women's sandals, flip-flops and flats selling for $12. They also have men's sneakers selling for $30 and women's sneakers selling for $25.
  • at 212 Washington Street has a sale saving 50% off selected hair care products including shampoos, conditioner and styling gel.
  • , consider stopping by the newly opened Mamoun's Falafel Restaurant at 502 Washington Street. They have both vegetarian and meat pita sandwich and plate combos, with the veggie pita selling for $3.50 and the plate for $7, and the meat versions going for $6 and $11. They also have sides including hummus, lentil soup and spinach pie, as well as pastries, party platters and trays that serve up to 30 people.
  • Hoboken also has a new hibachi and sushi restaurant, Ayame, at 526 Washington Street, in the space that used to be the Frozen Monkey Cafe. The restaurant has dozens of appetizers, soups, salads and entrees. Try the bento box special for $20.95, which includes multiple meat and fish items plus soup and salad. They also have hibachi lunch specials ranging from $9.95 to $17.95, and hibachi dinner specials ranging between $13.95 and $29.95.
