Today's The Last Day For This Centrally Located Hoboken Bank
This Hoboken bank branch will close down at the end of the banking day on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Bank of America branch on central Washington Street in Hoboken — formerly known as Summit, Fleet, and United Jersey — will shut down at the end of the banking day on Aug. 8.
However, the bank's flagship location at Hudson and Second streets — a former site of a fire headquarters — will remain open. It's the branch at 615 Washington St. that has hours left

The branch reduced its hours during the height of the pandemic and then kept the branch closed on weekends.
The location that’s remaining open is at 1 Firehouse Plaza, or 128 Hudson St, a few blocks from the Hoboken train station.

According to the Hoboken Historical Museum, that was the original location of Hoboken's Fire Department headquarters until the 1970s. The building was demolished and replaced by First Jersey Bank around 1976. You can read more about the building on the bronze plaque in the ATM area/lobby.
Another Bank Closed And One Opened
In other Hoboken bank news, Kearny Bank, a relatively new bank uptown, relocated to North Bergen just six weeks ago.
Meanwhile, a new bank, Blue Foundry bank, opened on Washington Street in spring 2022.
